Making my own Laundry Detergent

Landry Detergent is safe for GE machines!

Well thanks to pintrest I was creative one night and went to Wal-mart and got the things to make my own Laundry Detergent. I was curious if this would be cheaper and really clean my clothes (not really mine, more my husband work clothes....they stink) And well this is the most amazing thing I have ever made and it was really cheaper.
Things you need...You can get them all in the Laundry section at Wal-Mart:

  • 4 lb box of borax
  • 3lb box of arm and hammer super washing soda
  • 3lb box of oxy clean
  • 2 bars of fels naphitha (you need to shred them...I grated the two bars in my food processor, like I would a block of cheese and then grated them up more in the food processor to make them smaller.
  • 55 oz of purex crystals.....if you want your clothes to have a little smell, if you like alot of smell add two 55 oz....or if you want no smell just done add crystals
  • 1 big bucket to mix
  • 1 big spoon to mix
  • whatever you would like to store the detergent in....it just needs to be in a airtight container so it doesn't clump up!
Steps to make:

  1. take a little of everything and add it to the bottom of the bucket, mix with the spoon!
  2. add more layers and mix till all of the ingredients is gone.
  3. place it in the airtight container you would like to store it in
  4. start a wash of clothes and add 2-3 tbs to the laundry and wash.
** if you save the purex bottle you can store some of the mixture in that container and the top measures to  2-3 tbs and when you wash your clothes fill the top of the container and dump.

Ya'll enjoy.... I made this about two months ago and still have plenty of detergent. It really is cheaper and really washes your clothes. I am never again going to buy over priced detergent from the store again.
**everything cost me about $20-25 to make!

Camping on the Gulf, Destin FL

We had a blast on our summer vacation to Camping on  Gulf, Destin, FL. It was so pretty and all the staff was very nice. Hunter did really good on the trip there. Thank goodness for the DVD player and his addiction to Mickey Mouse when it is on TV.    Loving the car seat now that he can see everything. (front facing car seat) When we got to the park they helped us back into the site and we unloaded everything and took off to the beach for a walk before the rain storm.     View of the camp from the beach.  Hunter didn't mind the water at all and of course loved being pushed down the beach in his little blue car.  So pretty! Well......it pored for 1 1/2 well we were on vacation. Bummer....since you know we are at the beach. Our campsite flooded so the park moved us for free and offered us a free nights stay coupon for the inconvenience. I really enjoyed how nice and efficient they were. The grounds were clean, pools...
